In a J. Crew State of Mind
Monday, October 18, 2010 at 10:15PM J. Crew must employ some very clever marketing folks. I'm always thrilled to receive their catalog in the mail, and must sit down immediately to pour over the new (or new-to-me) treasures contained within its pages.
I like to pretend I have Jenna Lyons' job, so here are my picks from their November 2010 mailer. My picks are a motley bunch, as always...
Love this retro glam necklace.
J. Crew Soleil Necklace (Antique Gold), $98 at ww.jcrew.com.
I think if I had an unlimited amount of discretionary income, I'd own about 1,000 tuxedo jackets (Yes, I'm a big fan of hyperbole). I'm always drawn to them. This one seems particularly versatile.
J. Crew Knit Tuxedo Jacket (Heather Carbon), $168 at www.jcrew.com.
This looks like it could be the perfect casual button-down. I might wear it with a pencil skirt and jewels to dress it up.
J. Crew Fine Cotton Desert Shirt (Mossy Oak), $65 at www.jcrew.com.
I'm not sure, personally, how I'd wear this, but I'm intrigued by the corset styling and I'm loving anything gold this fall.
J. Crew Silk Jacinta Vest (Golden Topaz), $168 at www.jcrew.com.
This drapey lace skirt looks like a dream. Love it!
J. Crew Lace Tulip Mini (Black), $138 at www.jcrew.com.
This is a gorgeous, neutral staple of a dress. So easy and elegant.
J. Crew Washed Crepe Jane Dress (Dusty Cedar), $250 at www.jcrew.com.
I've been admiring tan belts of late...I especially like the repeated-buckle motif. It looks hip yet whimsical.
J. Crew Multi-Buckle Belt (Toffee) $45, at www.jcrew.com.
Victorian-esque granny boots and hiking-style booties are quite the rage these days. I admit it; I'm being drawn in.
J. Crew Eliza Lace-Up Boots (Olive Moss), $350 at www.jcrew.com.
Pretty peep toe platforms.
J. Crew Lindy Platform Peep Toes, $265 (Warm Taupe) at www.jcrew.com.
A perfect specimen of the equestrian boot.
J. Crew Britten Tall Flat Boots (Black), $350 at www.jcrew.com.
