Monday, December 19, 2011 at 9:01PM Illustrator Oliver Jeffers and Digby & Iona have collaborated on new (adorable!) jewelry. We LOVE the penguin necklace and ring (perfect for the holiday season), and the sketches that Oliver Jeffers made to accompany the pieces. This penguin made its debut in Lost and Found (2005) and has appeared in all of Jeffers' books since then. Additional necklaces and a charm bracelet feature other Jeffers' picture book characters. Shanna Murray!
Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 8:58PM As with so many lovely artists, Julia and I first spotted Shanna Murray's illustrated wall decals at the Little Winter Market (organized by Chelsea of Frolic! & Abby of Abby Try Again) this past November. Shanna Murray's illustrations are so beautiful (she illustrated the Little Winter logo too!) that our first exposure launched a proper obsession!
My education included the study of Greek and Latin poetry and vase paintings, in which wreaths feature prominently. Shanna Murray's artwork speaks to me of all of these favorite things and important influences, plus her illustrations are simply exquisite. This is why I was delighted when Shanna Murray's new collection was launched today! The collection features many wonderful variations on the garland and sweet messages too!
